the Nazareth YMCA, the Suburban North Family YMCA, the Family YMCA of Easton, Phillipsburg & Vicinity and the Bethlehem YMCA.
In 2014, the Forks YMCA Education Center was established.
The Slate Belt branch was opened in 2015.
In January 2017, the Allentown YMCA joined the Greater Valley YMCA.

com/gvymca/) What We Are Looking ForWe are looking for a Sports Coordinator to oversee youth and adult sports programs.
The Sports Coordinator will plan and implement youth and adult classes and leagues and provide oversite of youth sports programs that creates positive, nurturing relationships with children, while building cooperative relationships with parents/caregivers/community partners.
Promotes and supports the potential of all youth in programs and facilitates peer-to-peer connections as part of the overall YMCA program experience.

A Day in the Life as a Sports Coordinator As a Sports Coordinator, you will support the work of the Y which is committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
Our Sports Coordinator will work closely with the Senior Program Director in establishing new program activities and expanding programs within the community, maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations, and will assist in the recruitment, hiring, and training of personnel and volunteers as needed.
Responsibilities As a Sports Coordinator
Supervises youth and adult sports program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives
Works with Senior Program Director in establishing new program activities and expanding programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
Maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations
Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules, and directs personnel and volunteers as needed.
Assists with evaluating staff performance
Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
Ensures records of staff certifications are current and complete
Provides a high-quality youth sports experience to children through a flexible teaching style and technical expertise
Pays attention to students limitations, parents expectations, and instructors performance so that they can make recommendations designed to enhance program impact
Conducts regular audits of the equipment and facilities making recommendations for repair and replacement as needed
Other duties, responsibilities, and activities related to social media marketing may be assigned
Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information
Compiles program statistics.
Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in programs.
Maintain sign-in/sign-out rosters for all programs
Takes on a leadership role in the planning and coordination of events
Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions
Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner
Role model YMCA values and principles to develop the physical and personal growth of all participants

Some college experience preferred; Associates Degree preferred but not required
One (1) or more years of related Youth/Adult Sports experience required
At least twenty-one (21) years of age
Within thirty (30) days of hire must complete Child Abuse Prevention; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens; Mandated Reporter Training
Completion of YMCA program-specific and trainer certifications
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Good analytical/critical thinking
Familiarity with personal computers helpful
Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations
Valid and current drivers license
Able to effectively communicate and build relationships with Y staff, members, and vendors
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good customer service skills, high ethical standards, an appropriate professional image, and a team player
Must possess sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment skills, and a positive attitude
Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required Work Environment and Physical Demands
