Buckeye Partners is currently seeking a GIS Specialist with experience in pipeline and/or geographic information systems in the Oil & Gas Industry to join our team!Role
Summary:
The GIS Specialist is an intermediate-level GIS role with various responsibilities to support Buckeye's Data Integration and GIS program.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions include:
Supporting the implementation of Buckeye's Data Integration and GIS programs including, but not limited to:
GIS Program Support.
Completing routine data maintenance tasks, including centerline & attribute edits.
Applying knowledge of spatial and non-spatial analysis tools, including linear referencing tools.
Providing input to design data collection processes and supporting most troubleshooting and management tasks related to data collection.
Applying advanced knowledge of data analysis and spatial analysis tools, including model building, scripting, and advanced geoprocessing workflows.
Navigating complex problems and showing initiative to research and identify solutions as necessary.
Participating in Acquisition and Divestiture activities.
Owning GIS manual sections, facilitating annual review and proposing continuous improvement ideas related to procedures and documentation.
Supporting emergency response activities as requested and participating in on-call responsibilities.
Managing GIS projects and providing program development support as needed.
Data Integration and Management.
Participating in project activities including, but not limited to scoping, requirements gathering, workflow analysis, and documentation.
Supporting various data integration efforts by performing data entry, editing, and validation tasks as well as executing defined workflows.
Assisting stakeholders with data collection and maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting issues.
Performing Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) operations and data reconciliation processes.
Supporting data integrity efforts by participating in Quality Assurance (QA) & Quality Control (QC) activities such as:
development of QA/QC procedures and reports and providing QA/QC oversight.
Participating in review of internal procedure documents.
Customer Service.
Routinely receiving, clarifying, and delivering ad-hoc and routine data requests for a variety of internal customers.
Stakeholder Engagement.
Successfully interfacing with a variety of stakeholders with some oversight from senior Data Integration & GIS Staff.
Participating in scheduled stakeholder outreach including but not limited to webinar series and formal training.
Department Support.
Providing support for Asset Integrity Team members.
And other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Education:
Associate degree or equivalent coursework required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience:
Typically, 2
years of relevant experienceUnderstands and has some competency with fundamental GIS and data integration best practices, principles, and tools.
Special skills:
Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications required.
Special skills:
Competency with ESRI suite of products required.
Special skills:
Competency with SQL, FME (or other ETL tool), Python or other programming languages is helpful.
Travel Requirements:
5% travel possible.

The individual must be well organized with the ability to keep accurate records and provide status updates.
