6K - $107K a year Vice Chair of Education and Residency Program Director for New Anesthesiology Residency Program in Eastern Pennsylvania Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN), serving seven counties in Eastern Pennsylvania, is seeking an anesthesiology program director to develop a new residency program in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
The Vice Chair for Education reports to the Chair of Anesthesiology and works closely with other vice chairs, division chiefs, and program directors to maintain, strengthen, and develop new educational programs in keeping with the overarching mission of the Department.
Responsibilities include:
Develop and implement a system and curriculum for rotation of learners (medical students, allied health providers, advanced practice clinicians, and physicians) in the Department of Anesthesiology.
Coordinate with the originating departments or institutions of rotating learners to provide that the experiences of our rotating students are consistent with their needs.
Work with the Department Administrator and Chair to develop and maintain annual operating budgets for all educational programs.
Oversee the administrative support of educational programs.
Participate in and facilitate the recruitment of clinician educators; onboard new faculty members to roles and responsibilities in education and teaching; foster a culture of faculty involvement in the Department's educational programs; and provide support and mentoring to faculty who have interest in medical education.
Oversee faculty-development activities related to education, including training faculty members how to teach effectively, how to effectively evaluate learners, and how to give appropriate and meaningful feedback.
Promote faculty awareness of institutional and national opportunities for development of educational leadership and expertise.

Qualifications:
Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified A current PA Medical License or ability to obtain one is required Faculty member experience; preferably providing supervision and instruction for both GME and UME programs.
Administrative experience as director of a medical student clerkship, GME training program or both.
This includes previous membership in the Medical Student Clerkship Council and/or Graduate Medical Education Committee.
Equivalent experiences may be considered.
