The Employee Relations Investigator reviews and investigates all assigned employee policy violations, complaints, concerns, disputes, claims of harassment, discrimination, and complaints of unfair treatment with priority given to the most egregious allegations. The Investigator will have significant interaction with Human Resources, Operations and Legal Services teams.

JOB DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:

  • Carefully review complaints, gather relevant documentation and conduct thorough, timely investigations, meeting with employees and leaders, as necessary

  • Travel to local sites to meet with leaders and employees, in partnership with local HR leadership

  • Interview and gather statements from complainant and witnesses, using sound judgment to assess the validity of information to form fact-based opinions

  • Summarize investigation findings in written reports, make determinations and recommend courses of action; submit recommendations to management, as appropriate; follow up and document outcomes

  • Convey empathy, patience, discretion, neutrality, and active listening skills when investigating and discussing sensitive issues

  • Work closely with a variety of stakeholders at all levels of the organization to effectively manage concerns and issues raised through investigations

  • Proactively identify ways to prevent or reduce employee relations issues through the implementation of additional policies and procedures, training and communications

  • Thoroughly track investigations and disciplinary actions in centralized internal systems

  • Prepare clear and concise summaries and reports to those teams as requested

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Sitting for up to six hours per day, one hour at a time. Standing for up to five hours per day, one hour at a time. Walking up to three hours per day, thirty minutes at a time. Fingering and handling frequently. Twisting and turning of hands occasionally. Lifting and carrying up to ten pounds, occasionally. Pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Occasionally stoops, bends, squats, kneels, and reaches above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to general, near and visual monotony.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor s Degree in HR, Business or related field required.

TRAINING AND
Experience:

Minimum of five years of HR Generalist/Business Partner and/or Employee Relations experience required. Previous experience investigating EEOC claims and other formal complaints required. HR experience in multi-site healthcare organization working with provider employee relations issues strongly preferred. Excellent knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations (including ADA, ADEA, FMLA, CFRA, FLSA).

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
