Feline Only Associate Wanted
Allentown Cat Clinic needs an additional Associate Veterinarian who aspires to be an owner in the next few years. We are a feline only integrative practice. Practice Highlights The team you will be joining is experienced, fun loving, cat fanatics. Dr. Paul (U Penn) and Dr. Verhegen (Cornell) are supported by 6 receptionist, 3 techs, 3 doctors assistance and an amazing practice manager who takes care of the team and business needs. Several of our team have been with the practice for over a decade. Our practice is independently owned by Dr. Michele Paul, an ex-military medic and highly respected member of the local community. Our clinic is housed in an old converted house. It gives you a homey, comforting feel. There are 3 exam rooms, a quite euthanasia and acupuncture room, a small surgery suite and two treatment areas. The Allentown Cat Clinic team prides itself on being a friendly, helpful, family like culture. We are like a group of moms, sisters and aunts. We are bringing back the art of the family doctor. -Dr. Gretchen Verhegen About the Opportunity We are looking to hire an associate veterinarian as our last associate moved out of state to be closer to her fiance's family. She keeps in touch and knows she is always welcome back. (We expect wedding invitations when the time comes). For the right applicant who sees Allentown Cat Clinic as their new home and who we see as a good fit with our team, we will be highly competitive on compensation. Dr. Paul is always open to new ideas, suggestions, anything that will make this practice better than it already is. -Terri (Receptionist) About You You are a practicing veterinarian, licensed, and in good standing, in the state of Pennsylvania. You are a lifelong learner, fascinated by cats, who loves integrative medicinenutrition, herbal, and acupuncture along with conventional medicine. Herbs are not just for cooking. If you have a specific area of interest, we are always looking to expand the spectrum of services the clinic offers to to our clients. You need to be patient with cat owners as well as their cats. Be willing to provide happy drugs for the more fearful, challenging patients. (Unfortunately, it is illegal to dispense to the owners too.) Our team is collaborative. We like to teach each other and help each other with challenging cases. New grads as well as seasoned vets are welcome. This is a very close knit, furry, friends and family kind of place. -Kacie (Vet Tech) About the Team We are a hardworking, fun-loving, family who loves cats, food and laughter. Although we may squabble like sisters, we have each other backs. We take care of each other when we are sick or injured, share food and clothes, can't get enough of cats and are united in the goals to educate clients and keep our patients healthy. Why I like working here; it has the best coworkers I've ever worked withalso CATS! -Megan (Vet Tech) About the Practice Allentown Cat Clinic is one of the oldest feline only practices in the country. We understand the unique needs of cats from nutrition, medicine and knowing less is more when handling cats. We run twenty minute appointments using Scribenote to expedite the medical notes. Each doctor has a room assistant and a technician so we spend more time with clients and medicine while our team takes care of all non-doctor duties. There are three local ER's and an urgent care facility with a plethora of specialists available to us.
