Summary:
Provides appointment scheduling and insurance verification support to the Case Management (Workers' Compensation) Department.
Essential Functions:
Schedules patient appointments for injured workers.
Registers the patient and enters employer and insurance information into the EMR system.
Answers incoming telephone calls and responds accordingly and/or directs caller to appropriate personnel.
Retrieves messages from voice mail and returns calls.
Consults with clinical coordinators, physicians and case manager to determine how or if patients are to be scheduled.
Works closely with other case management assistants to facilitate departmental communications.
Scans and labels incoming medical records into the patient's chart.
Verifies and coordinates workers' compensation insurance and eligibility by contacting employers and workers' compensation insurance carriers.
Verifies patient's surgery with workers' compensation carriers and advises unfavorable responses with patients and physicians.
Works closely with the organization's workers' compensation biller to facilitate the billing process.
Assists other OAA offices with insurance verification as needed.
Other duties may be assigned.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
