The Engineering Information Technology team is part of Engineering Services ET within Global Engineering & Manufacturing (GEM). We globally provide cost effective, central support services to all GEM Engineering Teams to enable achievement of business objectives and delivery of value to our customers.
This position reports to the Engineering IT Manager. The incumbent will manage a variety of sustaining and new solution engineering IT projects that range in complexity of technology and use such as software upgrades and new engineering tool applications for GEM.
Responsibilities:
Coordination and leading project teams through alignment of objectives, development of scope, and meeting cost and schedule commitments.
The IT Project Manager will create a plan that includes coordinating software implementation with Global IT, the appropriate GEM team, and software suppliers, then execute and control the project to deliver the project objectives.
Provide leadership as the Program Manager and Business Owner of GEM's Document Management System.
Monitor outages and infrastructure health to assure availability for users.
Develop and provide service metrics.
Coordinate and lead application testing for enhancements and upgrades.
Lead quarterly service review meetings with Global IT account and service managers.
Manage the software contract with the application supplier.
Provide GEM IRM (Information Risk Management) Coordinator support by assisting the GEM Information Lead:
-Addressing tasks on the IRM plan
-Coordinating and leading monthly status review meets
-Maintain GEM information in the Information Catalog
-Approve record transfer requests to Recall (our global Cold Storage supplier)
-GEM file share management, etc.
Provide support as a Technology Coordinator through assisting in the development, planning, and execution of the GEM Technology roadmap.
Provide task level support to the SmartPlant Program Manager for example; monitor outages and service availability, develop monthly service metrics, monitor HelpDesk Remedy tickets and identify trends, assemble and publish monthly SmartPlant tools performance measures, etc.
Education /
Qualifications:
BS degree in business, computer science, or related field or equivalent technical training and experience with approximately 7
years related experience.
PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification or Project Management Certification highly desired.
The applicant must be able to demonstrate technical competence, leadership skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, and be a self starter, while being a strong team player with a willingness to accept responsibility.
Specifically, the applicant should posses: a sense of ownership, experience and knowledge (both depth and breadth) in project management; good influencing, communication, and teamwork skills. Have the ability to work independently; have effective planning and organizing skills; as well as effective analytical and problem solving skills.
Continuous Improvement experience a plus
