LOCATION: Allentown, PA
DESCRIPTION:
Due to company growth, our client has an immediate opening for Advanced and Experienced Windows System Administratorsin their client-facing operations center.
Responsibilities include:
Troubleshooting advanced system problems quickly and efficiently.
Providing run-time maintenance and helping clients through times of difficulty with their networked, cloud based environment.
Participating in projects - both internal and client facing - such as migrations, product and environment design, re-architecture of an environment, virtualization moves, managing back-ups (including Active Directory/Microsoft Exchange issues)
Providing excellent customer service and support. Client interaction is generally handled via telephone and through the ticketing system. Most of their clients are experienced developers or admins who run sophisticated and complex environments involving virtualization, clustering and SAN technology.
Daily responsibilities may include: (certain technologies may be platform specific)
Network requests (ACL changes, LB and VLB maintenance, Translation Changes, Site-to-Site VPNs)
Client requests (Creating Website Configs; Creating users for Remote, Email and Ftp; Installing software; System updates, DNS)
Internal requests (Maintenance, Audits, DNS, and DC checks; Information gathering for escalations; Writing project plans and Scope of Work proposals; Planning and performing migrations)
Troubleshooting issues: (certain technologies may be platform specific)

Web technologies (Apache/IIS, SFTP/FTP/FTPS, Tomcat, PHP)
Database technologies (MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
Remote Access (RDP, SSH)
Mail technologies (QMail, Exchange, Postfix)
Network technologies (ACL, LB and VLB, Site-to-Site VPN)
Security (WAF, PCI Remediation)
Storage technologies (DRBD, LVM, NFS/DFS, SAN)
Backup Technologies (Restore24, Bacula, WSB, BASS, Backup Exec, MSSQL, MySQL dumps)
REQUIREMENTS:
A great customer service attitude and the desire to talk to clients while solving their problems. The ability to effectively and consistently communicate with our clients via phone and e-mail is paramount.
Excellent diagnostic abilities and problem solving skills
A self-starter with the ability to take initiative and to follow through
A solid understanding of server hardware, LAN networking and Windows services
Virtualization experience is a must - cloud experience preferred
The ability to help people to solve complex technical problems while being courteous, professional, and determined
Team player
The inherent desire to fix things permanently
The understanding that a client's perception of the quality of service we provide is the quality of service we provide
Desired experience includes the following:
Experience with Windows Server 2008/2012 including its installation, configuration and maintenance.
Familiarity with web services (IIS), relational databases (MSSQL), e-mail servers (Exchange), backups, system analysis and performance tuning.
Ability to read or create PowerShell scripts.
A solid understanding of networking communication protocols, and familiarity with DNS, load balancers, VPNs, and firewalls.
Experience with high availability environments such as database architectures using methods such as mirroring, replication or clusters.
Knowledge of NAS and SAN technology; EMC experience a plus.
MCSA, EMC, VMware, MCITP-SA, EA, EMA, DA certifications.
Required experience includes expertise in one (or more) of the following areas:
Virtualization (VMware)
Clustering, HA or DR
NAS and SAN (EMC)
MSSQL (dba)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
