Distribution Center Associate



Position: Distribution Center Associate
Type: Full Time
Location: Allentown, PA


Department: Distribution Operations
Reports to: Manager Distribution Centers



ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned:

o Unload, check in , receive and put away product
o Pick and pack product for shipment to customers
o Document product configuration and physical characteristics for systematic management
o Perform cycle counting and stock verification
o Replenish primary pick locations from secondary storage locations
o Transfer product between inventory business units based on set of guidelines
o Storing, cutting, packing, loading for shipment - cable including application of pulling eyes
o Receiving, building, shipping Kits/BOMS
o Following safety techniques and participation in safety programs
o Meeting productivity standards and ensuring accuracy of work to ensure set standards for inventory accuracy and customer satisfaction
o Warehouse Management System and Navision item look up and inventory functions, Shipping Manifesting system.
o Operation of pallet jacks, fork trucks, lift trucks, reach trucks, order pickers, automated conveyers, cable cutting machines, saws, nail guns, tape machines.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

o High School graduate or GED equivalent required. Requires demonstrated ability to learn and understand basic mathematical processes. Must have ability to read and understand work instructions.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

o Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the Company. Must have personable phone skills and the ability to work with various team members.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

o Ability to add and subtract 10 digit numbers, to multiply and divide with tens and hundreds; ability to perform these operations using units of American unites of measure and weight measurement.

REASONING ABILITY

o Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
