Payroll Officer
A global logistics company has an immediate opening for a Payroll Administrator to work in distribution center.
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for providing value to our customers by performing all activities necessary to process and verification of the payrolls for all employees within the distribution center. The Payroll Administrator will work with various payroll systems, tax regulations, and with sensitive and confidential information on a daily basis.

Requirements:
Processing payrolls using ADP software.
Analyzing data downloaded from Time and Attendance software (ADP, EZ labor) for accuracy, communicating findings.
Calculating and performing special pay setups and processing
Ensuring all benefits deductions are accurate in payroll and that, if required, proper information is provided to the carriers.
Analyzing and resolving issues that result in the need for unscheduled special payroll runs
Designing ad-hoc reports as required by management
Serving as local expert on payroll
Run various time away reports for management.
Ensuring confidentiality of financial records, in compliance with company policy, federal and provincial regulations
Assisting with year-end payroll auditing and T4 reconciliation
Assisting with preparation of audits, reports and applications required by law to be filed with governmental agencies and commissioners
Qualifications:
Working towards or currently holding PCP designation with 5 or more years proven payroll experience (ADP Performance Pack preferred)
Sound knowledge of laws and regulations affecting Canadian /Quebec and United States payroll
Knowledge of government regulations in proper employee record management
Experience creating reports by extrapolating data from an HRIS or high-volume payroll system
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas), Word and Access programs, Lotus Notes, ADP, HRIS/payroll system (preferred)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills - ability to work with all levels of the organization in French and in English.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
Maintain strict confidentiality of records


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
