Job Description: Responsible for all aspects of registering patient demographic and insurance information, insurance verification and treatment/visit pre-certifications and/or referrals. Conducts telephone interviews with physician offices to gather patient demographic, insurance and appointment information. Conducts patient interviews by phone and in-person for the purpose of establishing a patient account, and gathering demographic and insurance information. Schedules patient appointments. Contacts insurance companies to verify medical coverage and pre-certification/referral requirements. Educates patients and families regarding financial responsibilities.
We have full time, part time and per diem openings available. Please specify your availability on your application. Travel to multiple locations such as Cedar Crest, 17th Street and Muhlenberg is required.
Minimum Requirements: One to two years' experience in a hospital setting and/or a physician registration and insurance verification position. High school graduate or equivalent Proficient keyboarding skills required. Must be able to speak, read and write English. Excellent communication skills, i.e., telephone answering, etiquette, interpersonal skills, and exhibit exemplary customer service principles. Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality. Must be self-directed and able to prioritize duties. Must be able to travel between locations and possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays and evening hours.

Preferred Qualifications: Four years' experience performing registration and insurance verification functions. Associates Degree preferred. Basic Life Support Licensure preferred Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Bilingual - Spanish/English preferred.
Licensure and Certifications:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
