JMT's Allentown, Pennsylvania office is looking for a Water Resources Design Engineer to be responsible for engineering design using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute and coordinate assignments.
Essential functions and responsibilities:
+ Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects
+ Perform storm drain, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control design and computations
+ Perform watershed studies, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, and design/inspection of traditional and innovative green stormwater infrastructure and SWM BMPs in both urban and rural environments
+ Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools
+ Develop construction cost estimates
+ Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction
+ Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality
Working Conditions:
Work is performed within a general office environment 90% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 50 lbs) may be required as needed.
Required Skills
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office
+ Written and oral communication skills
+ Proficiency in discipline specific design software, including TR-55, TR-20, HY-8, and/or HEC-RAS preferred
Required Experience
+ 2-or more years of experience in the Water Resources field
+ Bachelor?s degree in civil engineering or a related field from ABET accredited engineering program
+ Related intern, co-op, or full-time work experience
+ Experience using Microstation and/or AutoCAD preferred
+ Engineer-in-training certification preferred
+ Experience working with local clients at the county and state level preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
