JMT is seeking a Construction Engineer for the Pennsylvania CM/CI division for its York and Harrisburg offices. The Construction Engineer will act as the client?s representative working closely with our clients (PennDOT, DRPA, DRJTBC, SEPTA, PTC, etc.) throughout the Pennsylvania region. The Construction Engineer will work closely with JMT?s Construction Project Manager and will ensure that proper contract adherence and inspection requirements are met; attend/conduct project control meetings; document work progress; monitor construction quality and safety; and will work as an extension of our client.
Responsibilities may include:
+ Providing services for and managing staff to carry out construction management/inspection services on bridges, roadways, transit and other transportation and intermodal facilities
+ Resolve field construction issues and provide recommendations;
+ Prepare, maintain and secure contract records including correspondence, contractor documents, meeting minutes, daily inspection reports, specifications, non-compliance notices, etc.
+ Provide Quality Assurance reviews on construction projects to ensure objectives and assignments are conducted in conformance to contract documents.
+ Prepare and/or approve Quality Assurance Reports on field operations which may include findings and recommendations for corrective actions.
Required Skills
+ 4 year degree in civil engineering or construction management or closely related field is required.
+ Professional Engineer preferred.
+ Must possess strong computer literacy skills
+ Qualified applicants will be an excellent communicator and possess strong verbal and written communications skills as well as practical construction management capabilities.
+ Certifications in PennDOT concrete, NECEPT bituminous and NICET desirable but not required
Required Experience
+ 5 to 7+ years of experience of related experience required.
+ Previous PennDOT, PTC, DRPA, SEPTA, DRJTBC, and Local Government experience is preferable.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
