Registered Nurse, ICU - FT

Works cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, and other patient-team personnel to maintain standards for professional nursing practice. These nursing functions of the RN are carried out according to the Pennsylvania Nurse Practice Act, hospital policy, the hospital Mission Statement, and the Philosophy of the Department of Nursing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of an R.N.
Demonstrates competence and current knowledge in critical care nursing across the lifespan.
Maintains a working knowledge of Current ICU/CCU technology.
Demonstrates ability to care for patients having emergent or high acuity needs.
Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information.
Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.
Demonstrates/models the Network's Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external).
Demonstrates Performance Improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety.
Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices.
Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.
Demonstrates competency in the assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Other related duties as assigned.
PHYSICIAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Sit up to 2 hours per day; 1 hour at a time. Stand for up to 8 hours per day; 4 hours at a time. Walk 6 hours per day; 10 minutes at a time. Consistently lift, push and carry objects up to 10 pounds. Frequently lift, carry and push objects up to 75 pounds. Transport patients weighing up to 400 pounds via wheelchair, bed and/or stretcher with assistance when appropriate. Consistently pull up to 10 pounds. Frequently pull up to 250 pounds. With assistance when appropriate. Frequently stoop, bend, crouch , kneel and climb. Frequently reach above shoulder level. Occasionally crawling. Must be able to perceive attributes of an object through touch. Frequently finger and handle objects. Occasionally firmly grasp, twist turn objects with hands and fingers. Must be able to hear as it relates to normal conversation, high and low frequencies. Must be able to see as it relates to general, near, far, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and visual monotony (e.g., computer screen).
MOST COMPLEX DUTY:
Use the nursing process to provide individualized, professional nursing care to patients.
SUPERVISION (RECEIVED BY AND/OR GIVEN TO):
Supervised by the Patient Care Manager.
Directs care delivered by ancillary personnel.
COMMUNICATIONS:
Must be able to communicate with other departments, patients, families, the community and the medical staff.
QUALIFICATIONS (MINIMUM)
EDUCATION:
Registered Nurse with current license to practice in the state of Pennsylvania or seeking Pennsylvania licensure through reciprocity.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Successful completion of BLS course is required at time of hire or upon completion of orientation.
ACLS required within one year of working in Critical Care.
Critical Care Certification preferred.
Basic computer skills preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
