Geographic Information sciences (GIS) Analyst Post-doc / Intern

Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has immediate opening for GIS Analyst in our IT Advanced Analytics group. The GIS Analyst Intern performs geographic data processing and analysis, raster/image analysis and classification, geospatial modeling and quality control.
This assignment is located at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA.
Major responsibilities include:
GIS applications using ESRI Components and other related technologies.
Implementing GIS applications that interface with GIS web services, enterprise databases, and servers.
Geo-processing and managing geographic data
Derive information products using image processing methods and tools using geographic data and information systems.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A Ph.D or M.S. in Geographic Information Sciences/Computer Science/Environmental Science/Ecology/ Geology with excellent knowledge and skills in geospatial and quantitative analysis.
Proficiency in ESRI platform is essential.
Professional expertise in Microsoft SQL databases and ArcGIS server
Understanding of statistics and ability to write scripts using Microsoft.NET Framework, JavaScript, HTML 5, CSS and Python and other common scripting language is desirable
Background in image analysis and experience with Ecognition software is a plus.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
