Job Description:A Polysomnographic Technician performs quality, comprehensive polysomnographic testing, analysis, and associated interventions for treatment under the general supervision of the Night Shift Supervisor, Clinical Coordinator, Medical Director (MD, PhD, DO) and/or designee. Reports To: Clinical Coordinator, Sleep Disorders Center.
Minimum Requirements:Minimum of one year of experience in sleep medicine OR a closely-related field of health care OR completion of a minimum of one year college level math and science education. High school graduate or equivalent. Polysomnographic Technicians must become registered by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT). Employee must take and pass the BRPT administered registry exam within 18 months after they are eligible to sit for the exam. Eligibility and educational requirements are determined by the BRPT. Must maintain current BLS Healthcare Provider Level (CPR & AED) certification within 90 days of hire or transfer into the position. Physical ability to perform job responsibilities, including standing, walking, sitting, occasionally stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. May be required to work with chemical agents which emit vapors in the work environment. Flexibility to work night, evening, and day shifts. Current BLS Health Care Provider.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in sleep medicine with successful completion of a polysomnography program associated with a state-licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility is desired but not required. Knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide age-specific care in the treatment, assessment, and education of pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
