Epic Instructional Designer

He/she provides expertise in areas of application responsibility and works closely with subject matter experts on designing training requirements that are built into the Epic system and building training plans that match end user workflows. He/she is also responsible for assessing the success of certified trainers and end users during the transition process. He/she trains on application changes, enhancements and procedures to all necessary department teams.
Supports all elements of training strategy, planning, design, development and delivery/implementation for designated application(s).
Responsible for development of detailed, workflow-based curriculum and for building, testing and maintaining the training environment for designated application(s).
Attends change control meetings and other meetings as required, including status meetings.
Ensures deliverables are approved by the appropriate members of the project team and are completed in accordance with the training strategy.
Develops appropriate assessment and evaluation tools for training.
Determines the appropriate training modality (time, delivery method) for each user in designated application(s).
Trains and supports a team of supplemental (credentialed) trainers in their designated application(s).
Delivers instructor-led training for super user and end user audiences.
Maintains training curriculum, training environment, and delivers ongoing education post go- live.
Develops supports and maintains documentation and procedures as needed. Provides training to other IT staff and user clients as appropriate.
Participates in Hospital/Network Committees as assigned.
Level 2 support for Application related issues.
On-Call Support Required
Maintain current knowledge of technology by attending appropriate continuing education training/seminars and reading related periodicals.
Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information.
Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.

Performs additional duties as required.
Sitting for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; standing for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; walking for up to 2 hours a day, 1 hour at a time. Requires crouching, kneeling, and lifting of objects weighing up to 60 pounds, pushing objects weighing up to 80 pounds. Requires hand and finger dexterity to perform repairs of small equipment and to use computer equipment. Seeing as it relates to general, near, color, and peripheral vision. Hearing as it relates to normal and telephone conversations.
Bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, clinical field or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Epic experience and certification is required or must become certified in Epic applications.
5 years general computer experience, plus a combination of the following:
2 plus years of General Computer experience is required.
2 plus years of Healthcare experience is preferred.
PC and Printer knowledge and experience is preferred.
Application Experience:
Call Management System, MS Visio, MS Project experience is preferred.
Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Office suite of applications
Demonstrated experience in one or more core Epic applications
Experience in applications for training documentation authoring and creation is highly preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
