LAN Support Technician - Part Time

He/She is a member of the SLPG LAN Support Team responsible for computer and LAN maintenance services in an assigned coverage Zone. The System Coordinators lead the SLPG LAN Support Team. System Coordinator will oversee and assist in coordinating any required service provisioning related to Personal Computers, Peripherals, Client/Server configurations, installation of physician group and application software, device connectivity and LAN maintenance in accordance with SLPG Information Technology Department directives, project initiatives and physician group department service level agreements. The LAN Support Technician will rotate with the on call support during off-hours weekends. 1. Demonstrates/models the physician group and hospital's core values and customer service behaviors in interactions with all customers (internal and external).
2. Carries out first level service and support of PC hardware/software and LAN maintenance.
3. Performs hardware and software installations, upgrades and repair service as required.
4. Responsible for equipment moves/adds/changes and inventory maintenance and administration details.
5. Participates on project implementation teams as required.
6. Provides Data Communications services as necessary.
7. Sustains knowledge of computer technology through education seminars, in-service training,
information research (Internet) or approved external technology education.
8. Maintains Strict confidentially with the regard to all aspects of operation of the Information Technology Department.
9. Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information.
10. Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.
11. Demonstrates/models the Network's Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external).
12. Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices.
13. Maintain and perform basic system task in an AIX/ UNIX environment.
14. Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.
15. Troubleshoot and resolve computer problems in SLPG and MSO practice sites reported through the IS department Help Desk personnel. Coordinate system issues with designated Business Office and physician practice management system personnel where appropriate.

Technical School Certification in Computer Technology or related experience.
Previous experience preferred in Computer or electronic technology.
Usually Monday through Friday day shift. Additional hours as required
Sitting for up to 4 hours per day, 2 hours at a time; standing for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hrs at a time; walking for up to 2 hours a day, 1 hour at a time. Requires crouching, kneeling, and lifting of objects weighing up to 60 pounds and pushing objects weighing up to 80 pounds. Requires hand and finger dexterity to perform repairs of small equipment and to use computer equipment. Seeing as it relates to general, near, color and peripheral vision. Hearing as it relates to normal and telephone conversation.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
