Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

department. The Senior BI Analyst assists all levels of network leadership in making accurate,
fact-based decisions by utilizing "big data" management concepts and advanced analytics skills
to turn data from across network into timely, accurate, and actionable information.
The Senior BI Analyst routinely leverages a wide variety of internal and external data sources
using advanced tools, including but not limited to the Information Builders (IBI) OmniPatient
enterprise data warehouse, IBI WebFocus BI toolset, ESRI geomapping, etc., to deliver routine
and ad hoc information to customers across the network and/or external partners.
The Senior BI Analyst provides training, guidelines and documentation, and ongoing support to these
customers and communicates professionally with all levels of management using effective
visual, verbal, and written communication skills. This position also serves as system administrator of the IBI WebFocus BI suite and other tools as assigned, including but not limited to: assigning security, building and maintaining metadata, troubleshooting and resolving data and technical issues, building and maintaining user interfaces, assisting with system upgrades and testing, and performing routine data reconciliation and documentation. The Senior BI Analyst maintains security and service levels at all times according to SLUHN and department policies and serves as a network resource for data qualityinitiatives as required.
The Senior BI Analyst collaborates with stakeholders across the network and externally as a data
management point of contact on projects and ensures adherence to project schedules. This
position also makes recommendations to improve the efficiency, quality, and value of SLUHN
data assets and assists in developing information strategic priorities in conjunction with
Administer and support the development, operation and maintenance of the network-wide
Analytics systems to maximize the value of SLUHN data assets across the network. These systems include but are not limited to IBI enterprise data warehouse (EDW), IBI WebFocus (Insights) and other BI tools, Spotfire or other data discovery tools, ESRI geomapping tools, and legacy systems.
Serve as central technical point of contact for the above systems. Maintain security, perform system maintenance as assigned, assist with upgrades and fixes as assigned, ensure data integrity via routine and ad hoc data audits, and continually evaluate and make recommendations for process changes to maximize the value of the systems and SLUHN data assets.
Provide quality customer service by delivering accurate, timely, and valuable information using the appropriate tool(s) and dataset(s) to customers across the network and external partners of SLUHN. Develop/maintain BI tools and perform ad hoc reportwriting and quantitative analysis for customers across the network in a timely and accurate manner. Demonstrate understanding of good data analysis techniques and visual display of information. Effectively prioritize ad hoc, routine, and project tasks as appropriate under guidance of Director, Analytics and BI.
Conduct training for end users of the EDW and other tools, including developing MEL content in partnership with OD and creating/maintaining related documentation. Mentor and provide ongoing support to new system users.
Develop and maintain accurate and timely process documentation and audit trails, under guidance of Director in accordance with Network and department policies
Serve as point of contact for My Net and Web Focus communication, including page maintenance, announcements, etc., under guidance of Director Analytics & BI
Serve as a network resource on project teams as required
Provide leadership among staff (note: no formal supervisory responsibility). Assist in development of junior staff as appropriate. Make recommendations to Director Analytics & BI to improve department efficiency and/or quality of information.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills at all times, including verbal, written, and data visualization skills. Interact with staff and management of all levels across the network in an effective professional manner.
Effectively partner with internal and external stakeholders as appropriate, including but not limited to departments across the network, vendors, external partners of SLUHN, etc.
Maintain up-to-date technical skills and working knowledge of SLUHN business processes, data sources, and data management/analysis tools.
Maintain awareness of current trends in the business of healthcare, healthcare data management, BI and EDW development, etc. Participate in relevant user group meetings/conferences.
Maintain confidentiality of all materials and data at all times, releasing information with approval of Director and Director, Analytics & BI in accordance with network and
departmental policies and/or regulatory standards.
Comply with network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.
Demonstrate the network's Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external).
Demonstrate Performance Improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety.
Demonstrate financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices.
Comply with network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.
Sitting for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; standing for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; walking for up to 2 hours a day, 1 hour at a time. Requires crouching, kneeling, and lifting of objects weighing up to 60 pounds, pushing objects weighing up to 80 pounds. Requires hand and finger dexterity to perform repairs of small equipment and to use computer equipment. Seeing as it relates to general, near, color and peripheral vision. Hearing as it relates to normal and telephone conversations.
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree or enrollment in relevant degree program preferred.
3-5 years' experience in a relevant data management and/or analytics function, or 1-3 years with relevant Master's degree. Demonstrated data integration, querying, and analysis skills. Proficiency in SQL preferred. Healthcare experience preferred.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
