Job Description Job Title: Scientist, Metallurgy Job Location: Allentown, Pennsylvania Intertek Allentown scientists provide advanced analytical tools and expertise for materials analysis and R&D. Integrated problem-solving is an important client benefit due to the breadth of tools and experience the laboratory has available. An opportunity has arisen for a Scientist in Metallurgy to join this global organization within the Inorganic Analysis workteam of Intertek Allentown located in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The Metallurgy lab within Inorganic Analysis plays a key role in conducting failure analysis investigations on a wide variety of materials, including metals, plastics, polymers, rubbers, and ceramics. We are seeking a detail oriented scientist who takes pride in helping others, wants to improve the effectiveness of our offerings, and is willing to learn. Responsibilities: ? Scientist/Engineer in the Failure Analysis/Metallography (MM) and Microscopy (MI) labs. Responsible for:o Preparing samples, standards, and solutions.o Performing tasks essential for laboratory maintenance and operation.o Setting up, adjusting, operating, and calibrating laboratory equipment and instruments. o Performing general laboratory housekeeping duties.o Performing lab analyses independently.o Preparing and documenting test results in lab records, including notebooks, audit trails, standardized forms, and other documentation.o Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, procedures, and regulations and performing materials characterization experiments using existing methods.o Performing of failure analysis investigations.o Performing microscopy experiments independently. ? Work collaboratively with experts in other analytical disciplines to provide integrated analytical solutions to complex problems.? Provide expert witness testimony for cases involving litigation.? Collaborate with colleagues on laboratory techniques, sample preparation, instrumentation, data analysis, documentation, and safety.? Work with junior and senior scientists to develop methods to generate new analytical protocols. ? Clearly communicate technical information and project status to clients and internally in both written and oral manners.? Participate in the evaluation and recommendation of new equipment and technology.? Ensure compliance of company/client SOPs, protocols, safety policies, methods, or other procedures with government rules and regulations. ? Write, revise, and review SOPs related to job function.? Use computer systems and software programs - Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) and data acquisition programs to acquire and document results. Required Qualifications: ? Experience with and knowledge of Failure Analysis/Metallography and Microscopy demonstrated through a combination of industry and academic performance:o At least an M.S. in Materials Science & Engineering/Metallurgy or related degreeo Industry experience in an analytical laboratory doing metallography, light optical and scanning electron microscopy, forensic analysis and failure analysis; understanding of optical microscopy and a working knowledge of a range of other analytical techniques preferred; 10+ years of experience preferred.o Licensed Professional Engineer desired? Must have experience with and knowledge of a broad array of materials testing techniques and their application in solving product failures. ? Excellent organization/multitasking and project management.? Excellent teamwork ability to integrate expertise into multi-technique solutions to complex problems.? Strong communication skills, in both verbal and written formats. ? Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills, including data interpretation/analysis.? Ability to generate client reports and supporting documentation.? Microsoft Office software expertise, including Word, Excel and Outlook. ? Ability to review, understand, and convey technical information in an effective manner. ? Ability to deal with non-standardized situations. ? Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.? Occasional travel required.? Eager to learn.? Must be detail oriented and possess strong organizational skills.? Ability to multitask and desire to work on several projects at once.? Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced environment. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
