Wealth Lending Officer III

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
1. Facilitate the Wealth credit process by working directly with BB&T Wealth Advisor teams to handle all credit requests where appropriate, and be responsible for the production of loans in an assigned territory greater than $500,000 and up to $50MM.
2. Administer, service, monitor, and grow the loan portfolio for all teams in an assigned territory.
3. Interview prospects to develop financial and credit information, to ascertain needs, abilities, earnings and risk; request necessary information, such as financial and operating statements.
4. Structure, recommend and negotiate loans for individual clients within BB&T Wealth, while maintaining consistency and adherence to Bank policy.
5. In concert with BB&T Wealth Advisors, aggressively call on potential and existing clients to maintain productivity and profitability in lending and non-lending relationships. Successfully execute the BB&T Trusted Advisor Process.
6. Serve as a trusted, client-focused, affluent client credit strategist and market sales leader for the Community Bank in an assigned territory.
7. Monitor loans to ensure complete conformity with terms and to ascertain any developing trends.
8. Keep abreast of changing business and economic developments which impact the loan portfolio, its profitability and the financial services industry, in general.
9. Monitor, maintain and update loan activity, pipeline, and other pertinent information using the Bank's contact management system.
10. Ensure BB&T Wealth client relationships are fully developed, including specific efforts to serve the retail banking needs of affluent clients by partnering with BB&T Wealth Advisors, Wealth Lending associates and other Integrated Relationship Management (IRM) Partners.
11. Service delinquent accounts as required.
12. Represent BB&T in the community by actively participating in civic affairs and professional organizations to identify and develop new clients and enhance the Bank's image.
13. Assist with leading/managing special projects as requested by BB&T Wealth Senior Leadership.
Required Skills and Competencies:

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related training
2. Ten years of job-related experience (wealth and/or commercial lending)
3. Demonstrate a general understanding of major technical aspects of lending
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
5. Strong command of credit and finance
6. Excellent negotiation skills
7. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office software products
8. Must be SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act compliant within 30 days of employment in this role, including new or transfer of registration, and applicable NMLS acceptable background check
9. Ability to travel, occasionally overnight
Desired Skills:
1. Master's degree in a business-related field
2. Completion or in process of completing a professional, financial certification to include but not limited to: Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Financial Analyst, Certified Public Accountant, Certified Trust and Financial Advisor, etc.
3. Completion or enrollment in an established management or career development program such as BB&T's Leadership Development Program or BB&T Banking School

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
