Billing Specialist

Entry level billing position primarily focused on generating accurate customer invoices by required deadlines. Billing Associate will spend the majority of the month reviewing reports and making updates to ensure transactions are billing properly. Will be required to perform final review and complete statement generation based on individual customer deadlines.
Review reports and transactions prior to generating invoices to ensure accuracy.
Research and document customer disputes, responding to all inquiries within the expected timeframe.
Communicate with Business Office Managers, Directors of Nursing and/or Administrators at the long term care facilities as needed.
Timely verification and entry of customer information.
Meet all billing deadlines designated by customer expectations and contractual agreements.
Communicate ongoing problems/concerns related to report review or customer concerns to Supervisor.
Maintain accurate and complete records concerning patient billing activity / communication on all accounts.
Work and partner with other internal and external departments to resolve issues.
Follow all applicable government regulations including HIPAA.

Overtime, holidays and weekends may be required and/or expected.

Minimum (Required) Qualifications: (must be met in order to perform the job at the required level)
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Typically has 0-2 years pharmacy billing experience
Typically has 0-2 years working in an office setting
Basic knowledge of insurance procedures
Effective multitasking
Ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
Excellent verbal and written communication as well as listening skills
Intermediate computer and typing skills
Preferred Qualifications: (if above and beyond the minimum required)
Healthcare industry experience
1-3 years of pharmacy billing experience
1-3 years of experience working in an office setting
Prescription third party claims management experience
Physical Demands:
May sit, stand, stoop, bend and walk intermittently during the day. May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day. May be necessary to work extended hours as needed. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Visual acuity to see and read fine prints. Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to hear normal voice sounds. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
