Job Description: In this role, the Sr. Financial Analyst ? Government Regulation will interpret Medicare and Medicaid regulation and direct LVHN activities to comply with Medicare and Medicaid payment regulation and optimize Medicare and Medicaid revenue. In this role, he/she will develop and execute processes necessary to gather information required for completion of the Medicare and Medicaid cost reports; complete the cost reports accurately and by the filing due dates; regularly report value based purchasing outcomes and, optimization of wage index, geographic reclass, IME, DSH and other government payments through compliant actions.
Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree and additional professional certification from a professional organization related to healthcare revenue management is required. A minimum of seven (7) years of experience interpreting Medicare and Medicaid payment regulation and completing Medicare and Medicaid cost reports; experience recording revenue and determining cost settlement receivables/payables for Medicare and Medicaid payments; experience reporting Medicare value based purchasing revenue and opportunities is required. Hospital or accounting/consulting firm experience is required. Expert level of knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulation and payment rules is essential. The ability to interpret Medicare and Medicaid payment regulation and develop and implement processes ensuring LVHN facilities are reimbursed for all programs and services is required. Ability to organize and lead teams to achieve desired outcomes is very important in this role. Desire to work independently and be accountable for Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement optimization and compliance is essential. Ongoing learning through self - study and attending seminars and conferences is required. Regularly reading the Federal Register and others sources of information on government payment regulation and informing leadership of regulatory change is required.
Preferred Qualifications: A graduate degree in business, finance or accounting is desired. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Fellow Health Care Financial Management Association (HFMA) certification is preferred. Development of a peer network outside LVHN as a source of learning opportunities is desired.
Licensure and Certifications: CPA, HFMA preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
