Performance Materials Division (PMD) is currently part of the Materials Technologies segment of Air Products, a leading global industrial gases company. The Polyurethane Applications Development Chemist will be responsible for leading new product development of polyurethane additives such as amine catalysts, metal catalysts, silicone surfactants, and other performance or processing aids for the Flexible Automotive Seating, and CASE markets. Responsibilities will also include providing technical support to customers supplying automotive OEM?s as well as system houses, participation in industry activities to understand market trends and technology shifts, and identifying new product development opportunities.
Primary Responsibilities:
? Plan, organize and lead applications development and technical service to provide solutions to customers in the flexible molded Polyurethane markets within the Americas region. Primary customers located in the United States, Canada,Mexico and Brazil.
? Lead or participate in multi-regional, multi-functional product development teams. Collaborate with the Product R&D group in the development and evaluation of new molecules and chemistries. Collaborate with the Process R&D group, Operations, and manufacturing sites for the scale-up of the new products.
? Participate in Market Development Teams (Marketing, Sales and Technology) to identify industry technology needs and define strategies to grow the business.
? Attend industry meetings, stay current in understanding market trends and translate this understanding to create or drive new projects for the Polyurethanes business.
? Write patents, published papers, and give presentations that further establish Air Products? position as a leading provider of Additives for the Polyurethanes industry.
? Collaborate with the technical and commercial teams globally within the Polyurethanes group, as well as with other businesses within the Performance Materials Division.
? Manage technicians, laboratory space and equipment, and assume safety responsibilities according to Air Products safety guidelines and best practices.
The applications development chemist role would require travel (15-25%) to visit customers and participate in polyurethane industry trade shows/ activities
? PhD in Chemistry, Material Science, Polymer Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering preferred, but well qualified candidates with Masters considered.
? At least 3 years of Polymer Materials or Applications experience with strong preference to experience in Polyurethanes for the Automotive industry.
? Proven project management and project execution skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional, multi-regional teams in new product development from concept to commercialization.
? Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
? Ability to write patents, scientific papers, and give technical presentations.
? Strong experimental background desired with a hands-on approach to applications development, and experience working with laboratory equipment, foam making machines, and applications testing equipment.
? Excellent interpersonal skills required, with the ability to interact with and advise customers.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
