Advanced Metering & Data Operations, a department within our PPL Electric Utilities organization, is seeking 1 student to work full time (40 hours/week) during the summer of 2017, in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Position Summary
A PPL Intern/Cooperative Associate is a temporarily employed full-time college student in an accredited four-year institution of higher learning, who is offered a work-study program designed to give college students practical work experience in their field of study. This program often helps students determine career interests. Beyond the scope of the actual tasks performed, the student becomes familiar with a corporate environment and gains practical skills and knowledge to supplement their classroom experience.

Job Description
+ Works independently or with a team to evaluate a range of moderately complex process improvement opportunities within Advanced Metering (yet impacting multiple organizations); analyzes inputs and contributes to solution development and execution.
+ Builds knowledge of PPL Electric Utilities? business, income sources, and regulatory environment, and vendor management.
+ Assists with ad hoc accounting and financial reporting requests and data tracking and analysis.
Candidate Qualifications Candidates must meet the basic qualifications and pass all required tests or assessments to receive consideration.
Basic Qualifications
+ Enrolled in a curriculum leading to a baccalaureate or master?s degree in Engineering, Technology, Finance/Accounting or other related areas.
+ Enrolled on a full-time basis (12 semester hours). Students may not continue as an Intern/Co-operative Associate once they have graduated.
+ Have an acceptable overall (cumulative) grade point average, not lower than a 3.0.
+ Eligible to work in accordance with Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (BCIS) regulations.
+ Able to provide an official student transcript and other required information.
+ 18 years of age or older.

+ Able to work in a team environment.
+ Able to demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills.
+ Demonstrated leadership abilities.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
