JMT?s Allentown office, is growing and seeks a motivated individual who desires increasing responsibilities across a variety of bridge/highway/railroad structural projects at the local, county, or state level. The successful candidate must be experienced in the design of bridges/miscellaneous highway structures (culverts, retaining walls, sound barriers, etc.) and/or railroad bridges with a working knowledge of using industry accepted design standards, criteria, and software. Responsibilities will involve assembling and managing a structures team including designing and checking the design prepared by other team members for the preparation and timely delivery of the contract bidding documents related to the structure?s plans, calculations, specifications, estimates, and schedules. This position will also involve some business development activities, including representing JMT at various technical and marketing events and preparing project proposals. Candidate must have strong leadership skills and be capable of working well with team members to ensure design submittals are delivered in a timely manner. May involve some travel to collect field data, participate in plan reviews, monitor construction progress, conduct client meetings, and participate in public meetings or interview presentations.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.

Required Skills

Required Experience
+ Bachelor?s degree in civil engineering
+ Registered professional engineer in PA
+ Minimum Fifteen (15) years bridge & misc. highway structures and/or railroad bridge design experience
+ Minimum Ten (10) years of PennDOT or Maryland bridge design experience preferred
+ Minimum Four (4) years serving as lead/project engineer preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
