Job Description:
A world leading provider of contract services has a great opportunity for career development and growth as a Labor Relations Manager or Labor Relations Supervisor (depending on experience). This position requires you to be based in New England, upstate New York, eastern Pennsylvania or Ohio. (Cleveland, Albany or Philly preferred)
The position is accountable for achieving labor relations environments which are cost competitive, consistent with company policies, procedures and work rules, and free of unnecessary litigation. The position assists labor relations leadership or, as experience warrants, leads collective bargaining, the administration of collective bargaining agreements and provides internal consultation unit directors, District/Regional Managers and Regional Vice Presidents. The position also is responsible for assisting operating management in creating and enhancing employee relations environments which maintain union-free operations.
Responsibilities:
+ Administers process and participates in grievances at Step 2 and/or Step 3.
+ Performs labor and employee relations management training in specified areas.
+ Prepares for mediation, arbitration and hearings on labor and employee relations issues by documentation and maintaining records n order to identify and avoid problem areas.
+ Assists operating management with adherence to multiple labor agreements by consultation and monitoring day to day implementation of polices and procedures, wages, hours and working conditions.
+ At the direction of the labor relations leadership, partners with HR and operations in advancing sound employee relations, responding to union organizing, investigations and corrective action.
+ Assists labor relations leadership with the preparation and negotiations of labor agreements as ?first? or ?second chair? depending on experience.
+ As experience warrants, take primary responsibility for the preparation and negotiations of labor agreements.
+ Oversee fact-finding process and provide guidance with investigation of employee corrective action situations and operating unit grievances.
+ Assures compliance with labor agreements and company policies; develops an environment that avoids unnecessary litigation.
+ Files reports in a timely manner.
Employee Relations
+ Promotes/champions employee relations practices that foster direct employee-employer relations.
+ Provides employee relations training for supervision/management; provides employee and supervisor counseling.
+ Counsel management on practices that maintain operating flexibility and control costs.
Qualifications:
+ A Bachelor?s degree is required; law degree from an accredited law school and active bar status preferred.
+ 3-7 years experience required for Labor Relations Manager position.
+ Labor Relations/Employee Relations facility to service multiple location environments.
+ Readiness to conduct training program for all level managers.
+ Knowledge and application of ?just cause? standards in conducting investigations and corrective action.
+ Ability to relate effectively with hourly employees, unit directors, District/Regional Managers and Regional Vice Presidents.
+ Experience with Union organizing campaigns and awareness training with operators a plus.
+ Willing and able to travel 60%+ by air and auto.
+ Experience can be either from a management, Human Resource or labor perspective.
+ Experience in food, vending services and support services a plus.
+ Strong written and verbal presentations skills.
+ Ability to work independently.
+ Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
