Surgery Clinical Nurse Specialist

Are you a Clinical Nurse Specialist looking for an organization that truly understands the CNS role and the impact the CNS can have throughout a hospital? If so, there is a fantastic opportunity now available for a Operating Room Clinical Nurse Specialist to join a large, high-volume OR.

This is a large teaching hospital that is currently experiencing tremendous growth and revitalization. In addition to expanded services and renovation of inpatient units, this hospital is also looking to become Magnet-designated and add many more Advance Practice Nurses to their staff to continue the work of performance improvement, research and mentorship of staff.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist Perioperative Services will work in a 30-OR, high-volume department that performs surgeries of all acquit levels including trauma, oncology, cardiac, orthopedics and neuro. The Surgical Services service line, like the rest of the hospital, is in the middle of an expansion including brand new equipment, beautiful new OR’s and new technologies.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist Surgery will have both a unit and hospital-wide impact, with responsibilities that encompass much more than unit-based education. The CNS will be seen as a clinical expert, with opportunities to lead project teams, assess and identify areas of improvement, develop plans to advance nursing practice and clinical excellence where needed, mentor staff and coach clinical staff when needed.

This is a phenomenal opportunity for someone looking for the true CNS role in an environment that will support professional growth, creative thinking and ambition.
