Registered Nurse- Mental Health Clinic, Allentown

Duties Include:
Administer medication and document appropriately. Monitor lab data, diagnostic testing and report findings to MD. Functions as a patient educator with emphasis on preventative health and wellness topics, disease specific initiatives.Interviews patients, obtains vital signs, and prepares patient for visit with provider. Assess and evaluate the patient's needs, latent abilities, and social networks; screens and identifies patients for appropriate case management, provides health assessments and facilitates access to health care based on patient's need. Conducts telephone triage and provides the necessary patient direction and education. Completes clinical reminders, assists with appointment scheduling, patient follow-up, discharge follow-up, as necessary on patients. Provides immediate nursing intervention in all emergency situations. Able to respond to emergent situations involving the suicidal or violent patient. Capable of making emergent decisions regarding the safety of the patient, staff, and others. Serves as liaison for medical/psychiatric concerns and initiates referrals. Effectively communicates and interacts with patients and their significant others to help them with problem solving and developing coping skills. Participate with interdisciplinary treatment planning process; Responsible for ordering/maintaining supplies in the clinical area. Conducts Nursing clinics and group processes. Documents group process and Patient response. Maintains and monitors expiration dates of supplies in clinical area, crash cart, and informs ordering personnel if supplies need to be reordered. Assists with the operation of specialty clinics as appropriate. Exhibits leadership skills through charge nurse duties by directing patient care, patient flow, and staff assignments. Maintains current/active BCLS Certification. Work Schedule:

The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. OR The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in a MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing. Students should submit the certificate of professional nursing to sit for the NCLEX to the VA along with a copy of the MSN transcript. (Reference VA Handbook 5005, Appendix G6) OR In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of a current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement for graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia. Grade Determinations:
The following criteria must be met in determining the grade assignment of candidates, and if appropriate, the level within a grade:
Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse I Level II - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 1 year of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelor's degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience; OR a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) with no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse I Level III - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a BSN with approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or related field with a BSN and no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse II - A BSN with approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing or related field with a BSN and approximately 1-2 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree in nursing or meets basic requirements for appointment and has doctoral degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse III - Master's degree in nursing or related field with BSN and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
