1 of 36
Vehicle Description The MGB is a stylish two-door sports car manufactured and marketed from 1962 until 1980 by the British Motor Corporation (BMC), later the Austin-Morris division of British Leyland, as a four-cylinder, soft-top sports car that offered good performance at an affordable price.
Larger and more comfortable than the MGA it replaced, the MGB was built around a unitary body, where the floor plan and chassis form a single structure.
This design gives a less harsh ride than the body-on-frame design the MGA was built on.
It also created more interior room.
RB Collection is honored to offer this well-restored and attractive 1967 MGB Roadster that was donated to Allentown School District Foundation by the previous owner with all proceeds destinate to ASDF, an institution that directly impacts more than 10,000 students.
This beautiful car received a nut-and-bolt rotisserie restoration that was completed around the year 2015.
It retains its original numbers-matching engine and is finished in its original color scheme of Pale Primrose Yellow over a black upholstery.
The early history is unknown, though the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate reveals it is an original US-market car, completed in April 1967, and equipped from new with wire wheels, heater, black tonneau cover, ash tray, and foldaway hood.
The MGB presents in very good condition overall, with straight body panels, good gaps, and high-quality paintwork.
Doors are properly aligned and shut with a solid, satisfying feel.
As expected of a high-level restoration the chrome and bright trim are all in excellent condition, showing no pits, corrosion, or dings even on the bumpers and along the polished rocker trims.
Inside, Black upholstery is in outstanding condition.
Seats show no signs of wear or any damage, appearing fresh and unworn since the restoration.
Under the hood is the original 1,798 cc engine (#18GB-U-H/75318), rated at 95 horsepower matched with an upgraded four-speed transmission with overdrive.
This MGB runs very well, and like the rest of this vehicle, the engine is superbly detailed and finished to a showroom-new standard.
One drive is enough to see why the MGB is second only to the Miata as the best-selling roadster of all time.
While B's are abundant in the market, few are restored to such a level as this fine example.
This is a rare opportunity of acquiring a nicely restored and documented MGB, while aiding a reputable institution dedicated to education.
